New Delhi: The Hyderabad-based solar equipment manufacturing company is also looking at optimal capacity augmentation in ingots and wafers in the near future to enable backward integration and cut down imports, Chiranjeev Saluja, managing director (MD), Premier Energies, told ETEnergyWorld in an exclusive interview. Edited excerpts:

What are your capacity addition and capex plans?

Our present capacity consists of a 500-MW module line. For the assessment year 2020-21 we have invested in a 750-MW cell and 750-MW module line which will be commissioned in May-June 2021.

We plan to set up a 1,400 MW-cell line and 1,000-MW module line with capex investment of about Rs 1,000 crore, which will be commissioned by June 2022. This will take our total capacity to about 2,150-MW cell and 2,250-MW module line.
